Recent Acquisitions to the Wallace Arts Trust Collection celebrates the work of several mid-career and emerging contemporary New Zealand photographers.
The exhibition features a work by Peter Panyoczki, Still Life, which examines the substance of the physical world at a seemingly microscopic level. Other works include unnerving staged photographs by Andrea Gardner entitled Romantic Ecological Issue, Layla Rudneva-Mackay's Blue, and a curious photo-collage, The Making of Alien Agent 2011, by Jacqueline Fraser. Also featured is James Lowe's The 'ee' in the Honest World, reflecting Lowe's interest in existentialism.
