2022 : 05 May 2022 Youth Photo Award

Ryo Nishikawa;Going home;Going home but the day isn't over yet.
Ryo Nishikawa; In the golden hour ;An abstract photo of a lonely skater. The intention was to confuse the audience first and then give them a new perspective of things.
Ryo Nishikawa;A girl and a sky ;A photo was captured in Maungauika / North Head Historic Reserve. It captures the subject being free in the big wide world.
Rachel Sung;Swan Love;I took this film photograph in Western Springs Park right as the sun was starting to set and I noticed that a pair of swans were constantly together and would make a heart shaped with both their heads and neck. I waited for the next time they did it and thankfully managed to capture it!
Ryo Nishikawa;A day out with dady;Walking down the queen street, on Sunday morning I came across with this family. I could see the curiosity of the daughter as well as her dad being tired from trying to make his kids smile.
Ryo Nishikawa;Mysterious street ;We never know what's to come even when the path is wide and straight. Just like how hard it is to see the head lights of the car in the fog in this photo. The photo is a representation of uncertainty in your life.
Zara Cornwell;Tea and toast;Leftovers from my Nana’s cup of morning tea and piece of toast. The burnt crust and teabag would just be thrown in the bin and not considered as something ‘beautiful’ or ‘photo worthy’.
Zara Cornwell;Get up;A self portrait that was taken at a point of low motivation and a feeling of hopelessness.
Zara Cornwell;A new day;My Nana opening her window in the morning, looking out hopefully to the new day.
Ryo Nishikawa;Trapped ;I wanted to portray how teenagers felt trapped during the pandemic from a skateboarders perspective.
Ryo Nishikawa;the touch ;An unique moment that was found in a public bus. The dusty shoes tells a story of closeness, youth, life and so much more
Ryo Nishikawa;See anything from up there?;We do things that lead us to somewhere we know it's going to be uncomfortable and you might feel stuck, but when that happens we can still enjoy the view from there and figure out where you want to go next. Just like my friend is doing in this photo.
