Sunday 5 June, 1pm and 3pm

Paul McNamara, Director of McNamara Gallery, Whanganui, presents The Exhibition & Collection of NZ Photography Nationally & Internationally... A presentation outlining our efforts to expose creative photography to as wide an audience as possible, and to further our aim of promoting lens-based media, and exploring the range of practice.

The role of books and newer technologies in facilitating these aims, as well as other practicalities, will be discussed. What overall image of NZ are we projecting to an International audience via our 'curation' ?

Sascha Weidner, German fine arts photographer with Until It Hurts - Photography as a Picture of Empathy & Pictorial Narration, in conjunction with the Goethe Institut. Weidner will talk about his art and photography, which traces past events - personal records that can be integrated into his autobiographical narrative structure. The illustrated lecture will include his short film '9:48'. Recently presented in Adelaide and Sydney's Head On 2011 Festival.
