Theme

Hommes is a black and white photographic exhibition by French born and trained Axelle Faur. In a conservative society a nude image is often abhorred, but one which is artificially gymnasium-sculptured is more readily accepted. Axelle's photography captures the natural male form and reveals its beauty and soul by clothing the body in light. Skin, muscle, and sinew reveal more than strength: a male identity is male first. That in itself is fascinating and mysterious. The desire 'to have' is an innate instinct and Axelle's photographs hold the male form in an attempt to touch your desire.
