Made by hand, Anna-Maria Bribiesca’s photo collages of Mexico bear the fingerprints - real or symbolic - of sus ancestros (her ancestors), those that came before her. These fingerprints are not akin to her signature, for they are not a name. Nor are they a mark or brand. They are a sign: the almost invisible emblem celebrating her origins, her familia (family), brotherhood and sisterhood. Essentially and technically - handmade - her photo collages are created for hands to touch. Anna-Maria is concerned with balancing artistic trends and expressing the Mexican culture and people.
