public projects

The Auckland Festival of Photography has worked on several public projects since 2004 that engage with our local communities and all levels of photography, by asking for entries by either creating new work or submitting existing work for public exhibition during the Festival.

These public projects are produced to provide a focus on an aspect of Auckland culture and identity, to provide an insight into who we are as Aucklanders in the new millenium. Photographs are kept in archive for future exhibition and to provide a visual resource for the region. All images submitted are available to view for reference, research and limited use for promotional purposes under licence.
