Now open is the 4th annual Youth Photo Award, where we invite photographers and artists under 25 years from around New Zealand to enter their best work.

Late Harvest Award 2022

Late Harvest is an award for any and all photographers participating in the 2022 Festival and it's programme including Image Auckland Awards entrants.  Late Harvest is the theme for the award, and is wide open to many interpretations purposefully.  Late Harvest can be literal or metaphysical. Opens for entries from within the Festival exhibitors/participating photographers on 15th May, and closes 1st June 5pm. This is the 6th annual Artist Award sponsored by winesearcher.com

LH Award 2022

Each photographer that enters will be supporting our climate change project where the Festival is donating a native tree to be planted as part of the benefits to take part through Trees that Count.

Silo Park - 2022 Music Photography Awards

image auckland [tamaki makaurau] presents the winners of the 1st and 2nd prize from 2022's Aotearoa Music Photography Award entries from 6pm to 7pm outdoors with music by local Auckland band, downHEAD on at 6.30pm on Saturday May 14th. FREE.. Judge Dave Simpson, FromThePit says "I've been blown away by the quality and variety of images entered for this year's awards.  It's made judging tough, but I can't wait to share the results on the 14th." Dave is a professional photographer covering live events for 20 years, who's images regularly appear in numerous local and international publications including The New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, RollingStone, Billboard, Pitchfork and NME, and is a Getty Images contributor.

Nu-metal band downHEAD, perform at the Aotearoa Music Photography Award on Saturday the 14th of May at 6:30pm at Silo Park on Auckland CBD’s Waterfront.

downHEAD; Studio

The Auckland-based band have just returned from performances at the Wairoa Māori Tennis Classic and after the AMPA performance where the band will perform songs from their debut album CHERNOBYL, they will prepare for Matariki gigs in Auckland and the Hawkes Bay.

downHEAD are 20-year-old Hunter Rotherham (Te Whānau ā Apanui) and 20-year-old Tyler Costa (Ngāti Kahungungu) with the two (2) friends forming the band when they were 13 at Hobsonville Point Secondary School.

Produced by legendary creative producer Mika X, downHEAD music has been picked up by BMX web series soundtracks, boy racers, and dysfunctional teens so expect some subsonic vibrations, and riffs that howl like a freight train described by Tiki Taane as ‘chunky AF riffs, dope singing and harmonies with killer screams’

Picked up by Brown Cassette record label, their debut album Chernobyl was mixed by Nishan Shrestha, Mastered by Audio Animals UK, and produced by Hunter Rotherham. downHEAD is supported by United Māori Artists – a hub that incubates emerging Māori talent.
