Annalise; beeutiful; I was taking a photo of the wild flowers I have a round my farm when one of our bees came to see what i was doing
Theodore Holmstead Scott; Untitled; This self portrait was taken during 2020's Level 4 lockdown, as I was working from home towards the completion of my Honours project at Elam School of Fine Arts. The project was an investigation into sexual fetishism and its relationship to ‘queer monstrosity’, a concept lifted from queer studies which draws attention to the ways in which nonconforming bodies are symbolically equated with the grotesque, depraved, unnatural and ‘other’. This image plays with conceptions surrounding ‘furry’ subculture, with reference to werewolf lore and visual cues taken from ‘trail cam’ wildlife photography.

Angel Jacobson; Cooling Off; This is an image taken in the midst of summer. It is of a dignified German Shepard cooling off in Kitekite Falls, located in West Auckland. This image, with its blue green water highlighted with splashes of white, LOOKS like what cooling off after a hike FEELS like. The dog, grateful to be cooling down, admires water hitting water. One can hear the roar of the waterfall, and is almost jealous of the dog half immersed in the pool. I believe the feeling of 'cooling off' has been captured in its essence through this image.
