2022 : 05 May 2022 Youth Photo Award

Rachel Sung;Quarantine;This film photograph was taken when I was quarantined in Rotorua back in July of 2021. The ambience that the singular lamp source and the chair creates intrigued me and I had more than enough time (14 days to be exact) to find a way to capture that in a singular photograph.
Teresa Fan;Tent With You;This was the first time where my friends and I pitched a tent together. The tent is surprising large and really took us a while to pitch. It could actually accommodate more than ten people. We spent the whole afternoon in it and even didn't want to dismantle it. We then decided to take some good photos to record this precious memory and this photo was one of those.
Teresa Fan;Uneven but Harmonious;A photo where it's uneven but looks quite comfortable putting them together. I like this photo a lot because it's like people with different characteristics can get along with each other perfectly but not people with identical characteristics.
Zara Cornwell;Nana hanging washing;There is so much beauty in the everyday mundane parts of life that we hardly ever stop to notice. While on a visit to my Nana’s house I saw these everyday tasks like hanging out the washing in a new light and it reminded me to appreciate the simple things in life.

I walked by this tree and couldn’t help but notice how all the branches are dramatically protruding from one side only. I thought that this created a really unique silhouette of the tree as well as nice shadows on the ground.

Rachel Sung;Picturesque;This film photograph was taken in Mission Bay last year and upon seeing the photograph, I thought it looked too perfect to be real. The saturated colours of the sand and the sea make it seem like it’s painted on, and Rangitoto Island on the horizon just looks visually appealing to me.
Teresa Fan;Nice View In Pain;This was a picture taken on our way up to the Mount Maunganui in Tauranga in a team building event. We had a very long day and nearly everyone lost their strength to walk. This photo was taken when we were too tired and were having a rest, I surprisingly found this good angle to shot.
Teresa Fan;Lovely People;This was also a picture taken in our team building trip to Tauranga. This was the most popular fish & chips shop in town. We spent about half an hour waiting and there were numerous people ordering. But those staff still looked energetic and I toke this shot because I thought it was vivid.

Teresa Fan;Serendipity;I went to watch sunset with one of my friend quite often. But don't know whether due to coincidence or other unknown factors, every time we could not see a beautiful sunset. Teresa Fan;Reflection;An interesting photo taken in the museum where I can see my reflection and countless bulbs. In my view, bulbs indicate brightness, brightness to everything. Hope everyone has a bright life or someone in their life is like a bulb that brighten their life :)
