Lucinda Webber; Through Closed Doors; Through Closed Doors examines an area of adolescence through the exploration of private moments in a communal living space. This photograph presented was a part of a series of nine images that aimed to have the narrative potential to imitate scenes that I have encountered with or been a part of myself, however kept behind ‘closed doors’. These moments include throwing up after a night out drinking, watching Netflix in bed with your significant other or finding out your room has been pranked in your absence. The location of these photographs was the University of Canterbury’s university hall College House, where I resided myself for the last two years of my studies. An underlying idea that has also been incorporated into this project has been the inability or difficulty to gain privacy in a communal living space such as a University hall of residence.

Lucinda Webber; Z; The fundamental enquiry ‘Z’ aims to investigate is an exploration of identity surrounding a community of young adults living within Christchurch city. A time of transformation and experimentation, adolescence is the age to make mistakes and to learn from them, as we begin to create our own paths and become independent from our families. Apart of a series of 10 images, ‘Z’ was informed by a collection of writings composed by a select group of individuals that explore a chosen experience that they have had while living in Christchurch as a university student. An underlying idea that has also been incorporated into this project is the effects of social media and new technology on the way in which we communicate and connect with the rest of the world.
Sarah Davis; Maunga; Cloud rolling in over the sacred peaks of Mt Ruapehu.
