Chelsea Bauer;Disconnect ;The pain of heartbreak and loss is a strange thing to even attempt to put into words. It’s the aching in your chest where your heart is. It’s the loneliness that follows, It’s the loss of identity and the feeling of nothingness. It’s being physically present but floating mentally. It’s crying because something reminded you of them. It’s screaming into your pillow so no one hears you falling apart. It’s feeling like you don’t belong anywhere. It’s re learning who the fuck you are. It is oversleeping because you just can’t bare to face the world, Not right now. It’s the empty spot in your bed that used to be theirs. It’s the memories the replay on loop. It’s the feeling that you will never find love again. It’s the disappointment. It’s learning how to be alone and being okay with that. It’s allowing yourself to grieve and feel everything even when you desperately wished it would stop. It is learning how to love yourself more and finding the strength to put yours

Chelsea Bauer;Delicate ;This image is apart of a larger series that I shot based around the unrealistic beauty standards that are placed upon woman from a young age and how those standards have the ability to dissolve your confidence as you grow up and have to constantly deal with the reminder that you are expected to look a certain way to be desirable.
Chelsea Bauer;I shouldn’t be here; This image is apart of a larger series of mine called “I shouldn’t be here.” The series features abandoned locations throughout Auckland that have been left in a state to crumble and decay and be reclaimed by nature. Exploring houses that are in a serious state of decay is a heartbreaking reality that comes along with urban exploration. These houses were once somebody's home, the presence of human interaction still lingering on through the shattered mirrors and windows, seeping through the cracks in the walls.

Chelsea Bauer;Watch me dissolve ;This image is apart of a larger series of mine which is called “Watch me dissolve”. I created this series from this idea of how all we have left of people, places and things that we have interacted with throughout our lives is the memories and how overtime these memories start to shift, Dissolve and warp our perception of the truth. These memories start to fade slowly and eventually become a distant reminder of what once was.
