Peter Grahame is an artist who has worked in many mediums, including music, performing arts, writing, film, drawing, and photography. He bought his first SLR camera in 1978 and has spent decades capturing Aotearoa’s sublime light, shadows, and colours.
Looking Up features photos taken around Auckland’s CBD, where people, transfixed by screens, often miss what surrounds them. City structures may seem mundane, until viewed from a quirky angle, with augmented shadows, light, and geometry. Then, they reveal a hidden dynamic, a creative process. Art. All the more fun for looking up, around, and beyond.
