Image Auckland is delighted to present a special outdoor display of the Aotearoa Music Photography Awards, celebrating Music, Concerts and Performances in New Zealand.
The exhibition showcases a shortlist of photographs submitted for the 2024 Aotearoa Music Photography Award. Professional and amateur photographers alike were invited to send in their images taken at live gigs, concerts, backstage, or at festival/community events around Aotearoa New Zealand. All genres and styles of photography were welcome as long as they were music related, photographing both New Zealand and international acts.
Presented on the outdoor lightboxes in Te Komititanga Square during May, as we welcome in this year’s New Zealand Music Month and the 2025 Aotearoa Music Photo Awards.
Images shortlisted by 2024 Judge Federico Monsalve, and compiled by Daniel Ho.
Many thanks to all the photographers who took part.
Entries for the 2025 Aotearoa Music Photo Award open 1st May via Auckland Photo Blog. Terms and Conditions apply.
The Auckland Festival of Photography and the Aotearoa Music Photography Award lightbox installation are supported by the city centre targeted rate through the Auckland Council City Centre Activation and Placemaking programme. Thanks to Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate.
