Experience Ngā Wairau through the eyes of its young people at Through My Lens, a special exhibition of photographs inspired by the Wairau.
The works on display capture everyday life, flood impacts, quiet acts of care and connection with the whenua, revealing both the challenges and resilience of this changing or evolving Landscape.
Local artist Sonja Drake, whose work has emerged from her exploration of Wairau Creek’s history, pollution, and resilience, was part of the judging panel for this exhibition.
These photographs are the result of a photo competition, showcasing the powerful perspectives of the young people who are intimately connected to the Wairau. A youth group photography competition and exhibition run by Auckland Council.
