The Olympus Auckland Photo Day was initiated by the festival in 2004. It was the first open access public competition run over a period of 24 hours. Photographers were asked to capture an image which reflected their Auckland, thus compiling a day in the life of Auckland. In 2004 over 500 images were submitted and the first prize went to then nine-year-old Wesley Tumai.
The 2004 Top 30 will be on show.
