To experience the sensation of flying, be it in a dream, a piece of visual art or in life itself, symbolises a great sense of freedom, comfort and wellbeing. As human beings we often desire this fantastical ability in order to escape or overcome the boundaries foisted by society and civilized consciousness. For photographer Jo Galvin and Electroacoustic (sonic) artist Alex Bennett, this escape is found via the creative process and the passion to exceed in life, which at times, can be a most petrifying phenomenon. Terrified of Flying? is an explorative and sensual exhibition that brings together the worlds of visual and sonic imagery.
