Image Auckland presents the Aotearoa Music Photography Awards 2021 – 2024. This exhibition is a selection of prize winners from the first four Aotearoa Music Photography Awards (2021/22/23/24), as well as a screening of the 2024 Award shortlist – presented at the Ellen Melville Centre, backdropped by the bustling Freyberg Plaza in the Auckland CBD.

Professional and amateur photographers alike were invited to send in their images taken at live gigs, concerts, backstage or at Festival or community events. All genres and styles of photography were welcome as long as they were music related. All images were taken in Aotearoa by a great selection of NZ based photographers, photographing both New Zealand and international acts.

This is a three-day pop-up exhibition open to all in the Pioneer Women’s Hall.

Originally curated by Elaine Smith, adapted by Daniel Ho.
Thanks to all the photographers who took part over the past 4 years.
