Raewyn Turner is a visual artist concerned with cross-sensory perception and the uncharted territories of the senses, intertwining her work with science research. Her art practice explores ephemera through theatre, video, installation, painting, photography and performance. She has worked with olfaction since 1999. She is investigating the cyphers of smell arising from global dynamics, economics, and technologies, as well as the evanescence of time and how experiences unfold almost imperceptibly from the embrace of the future.

Black car 2024 (1000x750mm)
The black car was found on a rural property. It displayed a faded natural scented car air freshener leaf enhancing the vehicle's ambiance with its aromatherapy. Despite the car being abandoned long ago the fragrance by Enjoy Your Life was still holding out. I located an identically fragranced air freshener leaf which is displayed next to the photograph.
Red car 2024 (700x560mm)
Stripped of value and purpose the red car’s fabric and form embody a quiet surrender to nature
