Public Competition - Open to all

Auckland Region - 24 hours - 8 June

Nikon Auckland Photo Day is an open access public competition run over a period of 24 hours. For one day only, photographers are asked to capture an image which reflects their Auckland. If the photo is good enough to show your friends and family - your built-in audience - it might be good enough to win 1st Prize in Nikon Auckland Photo Day.

Groups, individuals, families, children - anyone with access to a camera - is encouraged to submit the scenes, people and places that reflect their Auckland region.

Nikon Auckland Photo Day is conversational and builds cultural currency generated by the people's photographs of the region. Photographs that are taken on 8 June will be kept in an archive for future exhibition and to provide a visual resource for the region.

This one day event celebrates the many diverse pockets of culture and identity present in New Zealand’s biggest city. Whilst celebrated in a spirit of fun, this event also fulfils the important role of documenting our life right here and now in the world we live in ….a day in the life of Auckland.
