This exhibition will no longer be on display due to international shipping problems from overseas.
In politics, image is everything. Immortalised in countless pictures, figureheads carefully plan their appearances before the lens. French-born artist Marie Le Mounier has collected and altered (desaturated) photographic records to highlight a signature gesture shared by all world leaders: ingratiating the public. Arranged in uniform grids, the images reveal an embedded behaviour in the global history of posturing.
Leaders appeared in the group exhibition Honorons Honore curated by Damien De Lepeleire, De Garage, Belgium.
