Lene Marie Fossen sadly passed away on October 22nd 2019. She was only 10 years old when she decided to stop eating and struggled with anorexia the rest of her life. She chose to be open about her disease and is best known for her beautiful and revealing self-portraits. Her soulful portraits of victims of the refugee crisis on the island of Chios in Greece also bear witness of a unique photographer and artist. "My photographs are not about Anorexia", she said. "They are about human suffering".
