Auckland Festival of Photography is pleased to be collaborating with Stowarzyszenie WIDOK on the project Bolesław Augustis: Two Homelands / Dwie Ojczyzny.

The legacy of Bolesław Augustis, a significant Polish documentary photographer whose life and work uniquely connect Poland and New Zealand, represents an exceptional and culturally valuable narrative. His rediscovered archives documenting both pre-war Białystok and the post-war Polish diaspora in Auckland offer rare historical and artistic insight that we consider vital to share with our audiences.

Auckland Festival of Photography is NZ's premium international photographic festival, providing a diverse and inclusive platform, for the exchange of ideas, artistic expression, and engagement with photography and visual culture. The project aligns closely with our mission to present high-quality photographic works to audiences across New Zealand and to foster international artistic exchange.

Mon 1 June, 2pm | Second session: 3pm
Curator talk and tour of the show (please note: this is not a seated event, walk around the works)  FREE

Screening daily are a selection of Augustis's archive at Central Library between 11am to 1pm daily, from May 26th. Ground floor, large screen, duration 7 mins on a loop.
