Auckland Photo Day is a community engagement project initiated in 2004 by the Festival as way to build democratic visual cultural currency and build an inclusive and equitable arts and cultural environment.

SAT 12 JUNE: CELEBRATE • SHOOT • SUBMIT • WIN

Auckland Photo Day invites anyone, anywhere in Auckland during a 24 hour shoot to share their perspectives of our region. Creating new on the day photographs that offer democratic visual conversations about the place we live, work and play.

Previous participation has seen thousands of images taken by thousands of members of the community, professionals, enthusiasts, students, young, elderly, men, women, all shades of our rainbow across the Auckland region.

The 2021 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize winners including Top 30 runners up and People's Choice winner will be displayed on the Festival website, generate local media interest and social media exposure plus the public are invited to vote for the People's Choice winner for one week later in June online.
