Talking Culture - Taking Part
Talking Culture brings artists/photographers and our audience together, for discussions about festival exhibitions and the world of photography. Talking Culture connects our audience with both New Zealand and international based photographers.
Talking Culture can be presented mainly In-Venue - around the Auckland region. Other formats can be advised upon.
If you would like to express an interest in presenting a talk, organising a panel discussion or other - please contact:
Auckland based In-Venue talk: engage.photofestival@xtra.co.nz
You may choose to present your talk Online as well as In-Venue please send email to both contacts.
We encourage you to visit Taking Part Intro for more information on the key sections of the festival.
In 2022-2023 for every project submitted and approved, as part of the benefits of participation, the Festival Trust gifted one Native Tree to be planted in New Zealand. A total of 99 trees have been planted.
I don't want to present a talk - I am planning on being an audience member - what do I need to know?
- This is a fantastic opportunity to meet photographers and join in the discussions about their practice online or in-venue - All talks are free to attend.
- Please be aware that some In-Venue talks/panel discussions have limited seating/space - availability/details/questions relating a requirement to register in advance for some talks due to health and safety reasons we ask you to please check with each venue organiser directly to avoid disappointment.
- All talks are subject to change in the event of circumstances beyond our control during the key deadline period and/or the 2025 Festival dates.
